Creating Hope Through Science.png

IMPORTANT UPDATE: In our efforts to best support ground-breaking cancer research at the University of Colorado Cancer Center (CU Cancer Center), we have engaged in discussions with the CU Cancer Center on ways to reduce our overhead, remove duplicate operations, and send more of every dollar raised to research.  Out of these discussions, a decision was made to consolidate all of our operations and assets with the CU Cancer Center and the University of Colorado Foundation, effective January 1, 2014.

Obviously, we cannot say enough about the tremendous public support AMC has received during our 109 year history.  The many discoveries and breakthroughs developed by our researchers over the years would not have been possible without our national network of dedicated volunteers and passionate donors.  As we close this chapter of our storied history, we remember the wonderful memories made while pursuing an end to some of the most horrific diseases known to man.

As we look to the future, though, we must consider what is best not only for our past legacy, but for our ability to grow and continue driving new discoveries with our efforts.

building-new.jpgThe University of Colorado Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Rocky Mountain Region, one of only 41 in the country. The impact is significant… Patients diagnosed and treated at CU Cancer Center have higher 5-year survival rates for many cancer types compared with state-wide and national averages.

We request that your future online donations be made via www.cucancercenterfund.org.  Mailed contributions should be made payable to "University of Colorado Cancer Center Fund" and sent to the address below in Aurora.  Questions can be directed to the CU Cancer Center developlment team at cancerfund@ucdenver.edu. Workplace giving organizations (including Community Health Charities) should contact Jerry Sinning to discuss implications of their employee contributions and pledges.  Additional information will be arriving in the mail to many of our supporters in the coming days.

We see a world where we celebrate survival as we move forward with new research and technology. We see a world when the cancers prevented outnumber the new diagnoses. We see a world when cancer is only a chronic disease, not a fatal one. And one day, we believe we will see a world without cancer.  Thank you for your steadfast support of this vision.
