2. Infrastructure Enhancement:
Build two new facilties: One Clinical and One Research:
- Clinical Center: The "Mayo Clinic of the Rockies."
- Rationale: Best Therapies and the Best Scientific Team
- Research Center: Drug Discovery Institute & Genome/Proteome Center
- Rationale: Partnerships with bio-tech industries creates an economic development generator for the city and state.
Purchase state-of-the-art equipment for clinical facilities including:
- PET tracer labeling, micro-PET imaging and laser scanning cytometry.
- More equipment for studying and identifying specific biomarkers for specific cancer agents.
- Upgrades of communication equipment, increased computer connectivity, information exchange and research tools to support scientists are also vital.
- Create an animal imaging facility to study tumor growth and metastasis in animal models.
- Purchase equipment to support UCCC including bioluminescent imaging, micro-PET and micro-CT apparatus - $750K to $1 million dollars
